Transparent polymers

for injection molding and extrusion

  • PMMA standard
  • PMMA impact resistant
  • PMMA optical grades
  • PC standard for injection molding, extrusion and blow molding
  • PC crosslinked for extrusion

Polymethylmetacrylate - high quality crystal clear plastic, brilliance, light resistance, high scratch resistance and unbeatable transparency make PMMA the first choice for optically demanding applications.

As a long-standing representative for Sumipex PMMA, we cover the entire range of possible applications, from impact-resistant coextruded sheets to LED lenses or cosmetic packaging. By setting up integrated Sumipex production in Saudi Arabia, we are in pole position in terms of logistics and raw materials.

PC stands for polycarbonate. It is transparent in its original form and, as an amorphous thermoplastic, it has little shrinkage. Polycarbonate has good electrical properties, but is sensitive to stress cracking, and even in hot water its mechanical properties deteriorate significantly.
Nevertheless, PC has a very wide range of applications because it can be modified very well. Excellent heat deflection temperature, good chemical resistance and high impact strength are noteworthy.
CnP Polymer offers a complete range of products for injection molding and extrusion applications. At low temperatures, PC is still very impact resistant, and with its low shrinkage, it is thus first-class for use in profiles and other thin-walled, transparent parts. With UV stabilization, PC is suitable for outdoor applications. PC is used in profiles, household and electronic applications.

Our offered PC grades are reinforced, heat resistant and flame retardant products. We supply goods from Asia and from our local partners. Each type is also available dyed and UV stabilized. Besides virgin material we offer other specified grades. Furthermore we would like to point out our special powder types for compounding.

ABS

ABS stands for acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene. The properties of ABS are controlled by the mixing ratio of the three components. The styrene component provides the stiffness of the material, the acrylonitrile provides heat resistance, and the butadiene rubber gives the ABS its elastic properties. ABS is an amorphous plastic with low shrinkage.

ABS offers a glossy surface and can be colored very well. ABS has a typical application temperature between -20°C and 80°C. It has limited use for outdoor applications, although it can be modified. However, we would rather advise ASA here. CnP Polymer offers a wide range of supplies for injection molding, extrusion and compounding applications. We supply goods from Asia and from local partners.
We also have flame retardant, matte and UV stabilized ABS in our program. Standard colors or colorizations to customer specifications are available. We have ABS with food approval or antistatic equipment as well as special Highrubber ABS grades, also in powder form, which are particularly suitable for compounding.

PTFE

Polytetrafluoroethylene is a fully fluorinated polymer and the best-known chemical-resistant plastic in the world. Its resistance to virtually all organic and inorganic chemicals, as well as ozone, oxygen and UV light, makes PTFE an indispensable product in industry and our daily lives.

In addition to being physiologically harmless, PTFE offers temperature resistance from -270°C to +260°C, has first-class non-stick properties and very good electrical insulation values. For CNP, the low coefficients of friction and perfect sliding properties are of particular importance. CNP is the contact in Europe when it comes to improving these values in plastic compounds.

In Northern Europe we have been the partner of the largest independent PTFE specialist Polis from Italy for many years. With Polis, we can offer the entire range of PTFE requirements. Lubricants, flame retardants, virgin PTFE, modified PTFE and PTFE compounds. There is no PTFE compound that we cannot produce. We offer custom solutions, even for small batches.

CNP specializes in the lubrication of plastics. We also have PTFE micro powders with FDA and EU 10/2011 approvals. We can offer all our grades PFOA free - we already meet the future POP and REACH standards with below 25 ppb (PFOA). For years our Lubeflon PTFE has also been used in the lubricants industry for special oils and modified greases.

We carry other fluoropolymers: ETFE, PVDF, PFA, FEP and MFA.

SBC (Styrene Block Copolymers)

Styrene block copolymers are a special group of thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs) based on a hard polystyrene end block and a soft elastomer middle block.
The styrene phase gives the molecules high strength, while the elastomer phase provides rubber-like properties, especially low temperature resistance and flexibility.
Since no vulcanisation is necessary, SBCs can usually be recycled without any problems, unlike rubbers.
SBCs can be excellently combined with many thermoplastics. Compounded SBCs, especially SEBS, can be processed like thermoplastics by injection moulding or extrusion.

SEBS

SEBS (styrene-ethylene-butylene-styrene) is a hydrogenated form of SBC. Due to hydrogenation, it offers higher resistance to weathering and UV light compared to SBS. SEBS has good recovery, high oil and filler absorption and excellent mechanical properties.
Applications: Compounding with thermoplastics, e.g. PP, hard-soft compounds in injection moulding, profile extrusion, adhesives, artificial turf, asphalt modification.

SBS (styrene butadiene styrene)

SBS with butadiene as comonomer offers good mechanical properties and good processability. SBS is used for solvent-based adhesives, elastic films, asphalt modification and compounds.

SIS (styrene isoprene styrene) with isoprene as the middle block has properties that are particularly suitable for the production of hot melt pressure sensitive adhesives (HMPSA).

Properties: Good cohesion, high adhesion and good thermal stability.
Applications: Adhesives, tapes, labels.
